INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY of DISPUTE RESOLUTION
National Intercollegiate Mediation Tournament
Each year in November the InterNational Academy of Dispute Resolution sponsors an undergraduate tournament, the National Intercollegiate Mediation Tournament.  The intent of the tournament is to give students a real life experience as mediator and as an attorney and client.  Three students make up a team, and each must participate as mediator in one of three preliminary rounds.  Students participating have the opportunity to receive All-American recognition.

At each tournament, the day before is devoted to extensive mediation training, as well as advocacy training.  Emphasis at the tournament is placed on education and fellowship, rather than competition or winning.

The 14th Annual Intercollegiate Mediation Tournament will be held October 31 - November 2, 2012 at Drake University Law School in Des Moines, IA.

Invitational Tournaments
In addition to the national tournament there are also regional invitational tournaments held around the country.  These invitationals have taken place in Georgia, Texas, Wisconsin, Iowa, South Dakota, and elsewhere.  These tournaments are typically organized similarly to the national tournament, but are intended to provide more emphasis on training and education in preparation for the national tournament.
