Volunteer as a Judge

We are reaching out for volunteers with expertise in the area of mediation and alternative dispute resolution to participate as a judge for INADR at an upcoming competition!

The International Academy of Dispute Resolution (INADR) will be hosting tournaments throughout the year and we are looking for practitioners in the field of mediation to assist with judging and we are reaching out to you to see if you would be available to assist us.

Please find more information about the dates and locations of our tournaments on our calendar.

Judges training will be provided before the start of each competitive round to ensure you are familiar with the judging process and to answer any questions you may have.

In general, these competitions are for undergraduate and law school students who are interested in pursuing careers in mediation and ADR.  The competitive portion of the event consists of three preliminary rounds, followed by semi-final and final rounds wherein each student on each team gets the opportunity to compete in the role of a mediator, attorney-advocate, and client.

As the judge, you would be given a scorecard and asked to evaluate each student on his or her performance in each role. At the end of each competitive round you will be given an opportunity to provide direct feedback to participants about their performance in the competition.

At the end of the competition awards will be given to the top performers in each category.

Your willingness to participate as a judge will go along way toward ensuring participants are inspired and excited about the prospect of pursuing mediation and ADR as a career. We hope you will take time to consider joining us at this event.
